Welcome to Spruce Creek Church!
The following is a list of popular questions that you might be asking, along with some hopefully helpful answers.
What are Spruce Creek's beliefs?
Our beliefs are at the core of our worship, ministries and all other programs at Spruce Creek. For a closer look at our doctrine and what we believe, please check out Our Beliefs.
What is worship like?
Worship at Spruce Creek Church is first and foremost God-centered. Sunday morning services include scripture readings, confessions, prayers, both praise songs (usually led by our worship leader Brad Buckley and his guitar) and piano accompanied hymns, and Gospel-driven expository preaching. It is a time for us to gather as the body of Christ, offer corporate praise to God, and be edified by the preaching of His word.
What are the sermons like?
Most weeks at Spruce Creek Church, our pastor Jeffrey Birch delivers the sermon. Pastor Jeff is an expository preacher so through his sermons he explains the meaning of specific passages of Scripture through careful exegesis, consideration of scriptural contexts, as well as useful commentary from theologians and biblical scholars to further determine the text writer's intended theological meaning. Each sermon usually lasts about 25 minutes. The best way to know what the sermons are like at Spruce Creek Church is to listen to a few of them. Please visit our Sermons page to listen to as many sermons as you'd like!
What should I wear?
Spruce Creek Church strives to foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects God's gracious love and acceptance of us.
We care much more about you than what you wear. We have a wide diversity of dress among our members and friends. Since we are in Florida, some dress very casually; others wear business casual, and some wear their Sunday best. Dress as you feel comfortable - you'll fit in just fine.
Where should I enter?
We have reserved and labeled guest parking available near the Worship Center, our main building.
Members of our Welcome Ministry will be waiting to welcome you and offer assistance if you need help locating our nursery, restrooms, or anything else.
What about my kids?
If you prefer to keep your children with you during church, we welcome you to do that. However, we do offer nursery care for infants and toddlers, as well as Children's Church and Sunday School for children ages three through 5th grade.
For your peace of mind, we use KidCheck, a safe and easy check-in system, for all of our children. Parents sign in at an iPad found on the left side of the lobby in the Worship Center, the main building, and print out a pair of tags with the child's and parent's information.
If you'd like to complete KidCheck's one-time registration before you arrive to Spruce Creek, please click below - it'll make checking in at church that first time a little faster, but we're here to help walk you through registration if you'd rather sign up for KidCheck at Spruce Creek.
For more information about when and where children's ministries are, please click the category that interests you: nursery care (offered during all services), Sunday School (10:00), and Children's Church (11:00)
Middle and high school students attend one of our worship services with their families but are invited to join Wildfire Sunday School from 10:00 to 10:45, located in the Education Building.
How big is Spruce Creek?
We are a smaller church with around 150 people in attendance on Sunday mornings.
What denomination is Spruce Creek Presbyterian?
Spruce Creek is a part of the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America).
Do you have a class for those who are new to Spruce Creek?
Yes! Discover Spruce Creek is a class that we offer for people interested in learning more about joining our church. Pastor Jeff Birch will talk with prospective members about the vision and mission of Spruce Creek, as well as our beliefs and doctrine. This two part class takes place throughout the year as needed.
