Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to Spruce Creek Church!

The following is a list of popular questions that you might be asking, along with some hopefully helpful answers.

What are Spruce Creek's beliefs?

Our beliefs are at the core of our worship, ministries and all other programs at Spruce Creek. For a closer look at our doctrine and what we believe, please check out Our Beliefs.

What is worship like?

Worship at Spruce Creek Church is first and foremost God-centered. Sunday morning services include scripture readings, confessions, prayers, both praise songs (usually led by some of the talented folks in our congregation) and piano accompanied Psalms and hymns, and Gospel-driven expository preaching. It is a time for us to gather as the body of Christ, offer corporate praise to God, and be edified by the preaching of His word.

What are the sermons like?

Most weeks at Spruce Creek Church, our pastor Dr. Joshua Owen delivers the sermon. Pastor Josh is an expository preacher so through his sermons he explains the meaning of specific passages of Scripture through careful exegesis, consideration of scriptural contexts, as well as useful commentary from trusted Reformed theologians and biblical scholars.

What should I wear?

Spruce Creek Church strives to foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects God's gracious love and acceptance of us.

We care much more about you than what you wear. We have a wide diversity of dress among our members and friends. Since we are in Florida, some dress very casually; others wear business casual, and some wear their Sunday best. Dress as you feel comfortable - you'll fit in just fine.

Where should I enter?

We have reserved and labeled guest parking available near the Worship Center, our main building.

Members of our Welcome Ministry will be waiting to welcome you and offer assistance if you need help locating our nursery, restrooms, or anything else.

What about my kids?

If you prefer to keep your children with you during church, we welcome you to do that. However, we do offer nursery care for infants and toddlers. We also offer Sunday School for children ages three through 5th grade.

Middle and high school students attend one of our worship services with their families but are invited to join Wildfire Sunday School from 10:00 to 10:45, located in the Education Building.

How big is Spruce Creek?

We are a smaller church with around 150 people in attendance on Sunday mornings.

What denomination is Spruce Creek Presbyterian?

Spruce Creek is a part of the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America).

Do you have a class for those who are new to Spruce Creek?

Yes! Discover Spruce Creek is a class that we offer for people interested in learning more about joining our church. Pastor Josh Owen will talk with prospective members about the vision and mission of Spruce Creek, as well as our beliefs and doctrine. This two part class takes place throughout the year as needed.

Thank you for being our guest - we're excited to have you with us!
